Four Winters at War

Four Winters at War – a musical play to commemorate World War 1 – will be staged during 2015 at Birches Valley Forest Centre on Cannock Chase. Cannock Chase Arts Council are looking for actors, dancers, musicans and singers to perform, and painters, tapestry makers and artists to help design the set.

The play is a work of fiction written by Peter Sidgwick with music by Jon Seymour drawing on C J Whitehouse’s book ‘A Town for Four Winters’ – a short history of the military camps on Cannock Chase between 1915 and 1918. It centres on the lives and loves of three soldiers – British, New Zealander and German – who find themselves on the Chase and all of whom become romantically involved with nurses serving at the nearby military hospital on Brindley Heath.

Performance dates are June 20 and 21 2015. Anyone interested in getting involved with the project should contact Peter Sidgwick on 01543 422300, p.sidgwick@talktalk.net.
